When Brandon Jones, a fledgling reporter, stumbles across a vagrant ex-marine who insists he knows who is taking the girls, he smells not just an unwashed body but a story bound to further his career. Following up on the lead, he meets Melissa, who has set up a website for parents of missing children as she desperately tries to find her daughter, Mia. The website has attracted the attention of a national figure, Pat Hunter, a tiger conservationist whose niece has also disappeared. Between them, they make sure the public is aware of the missing youngsters despite a lack of interest from the police.
