Stephen Byfield has been promoted to working at Government level for Her Majesty’s Prisons, but this comes with its own problems as he discovers corruption at the highest levels. With the British security services now after him, Tanya, his wife, has had enough of constantly being under threat and takes the three children off to South Africa to stay with a friend.

With his marriage now hanging in the balance, Stephen doesn’t know who is friend or foe as he is hounded by unknown forces demanding that he give up a package he knows nothing about. He thinks things can’t get any worse when he finds himself in prison, unable to prove his innocence, but then hears that the killer chasing him has turned his attention to Tania and the children in Cape Town.
